Since 1952, Smith-Shattuck Bookbinding has been binding theses and dissertations in the traditional manner. Each year our bindery has adapted to new materials and techniques that have become available to us. The result has been an archival book made from the highest quality acid-free materials. Each thesis is machine oversewn with unbleached cotton thread and archival endpapers. This sewing process creates an exceptionally strong binding with maximum flexibility.

Both Princeton and Rutgers Universities recommend us for dissertation binding. In addition our company can meet any university requirements for color, size or stamping.

Our bindery offers United Parcel Service delivery for the United States and Canada. Courier service can be arranged for the Tri-State area. Delivery service by UPS to Princeton University is usually the next business day and we have not had a problem with using them, but delivery always seems late in the day. If the delivery is time sensitive and you are worried, our local courier delivers to the secretary's office.
